Playa Nacascolo sits on the sheltered inner side of the Papagayo Peninsula, reached mainly through the resort properties there or by boat from Playas del Coco. Tropical dry forest backs a long stretch of pale sand, and the water stays calm and clear because the peninsula blocks the open Pacific swell. It holds five-star Bandera Azul Ecologica status and is known for monkeys, coatis, and raccoons seen along the access trail.

Getting there
Access is through the resort properties on the Papagayo Peninsula (a shuttle plus a short walk) or by hired boat from Playas del Coco; there is no public road directly to the beach.

Nesting season: November to March, mostly solitary nests rather than mass arribadas
Resort conservation staff on the Papagayo Peninsula (Four Seasons, Andaz, Prieta Beach Club) monitor Nacascolo and nearby beaches and respond to nesting and hatching events.
