Numbers ring dead. Restaurants close and their pages live on for years. A tour operator switches WhatsApp and loses a season of bookings to a listing nobody bothered to update. Anyone who lives here has watched it happen, usually while a confused visitor stands outside a building that stopped being a surf shop in 2019.
How verification works
Before a business appears in this directory, we check it against live sources: the official website, active social accounts, recent reviews. We keep a record of where every fact came from. When we cannot confirm a phone number or an address, we leave the field empty rather than guess, because a blank is honest and a wrong number wastes your afternoon. Every listing shows the date it was last checked, right under the name.
Listings get re-checked on a cycle. A business that closes gets removed from the site, not left up to collect clicks.
Rankings are not for sale
Nobody pays to appear here, and nobody pays to appear first. If we ever offer featured placement, it will be labeled featured in plain sight. The data itself, the numbers, hours, and links you actually need, will never be the thing for sale.
Checked by people who live here
This directory is run from Manuel Antonio, not from an office three time zones away. We started with Manuel Antonio and Quepos because it is home turf, and home turf means we can verify the old fashioned way: by calling, and sometimes by walking in. Other regions of Costa Rica will follow as each one can be brought to the same standard.
Run a business here?
Your listing is free. If something on your page is out of date, or your business should be here and is not, find yourself in the directory and check the details, then tell us on WhatsApp (the green button in the corner of every page). We verify the correction, then we fix it. If you would like to send your own photos for your listing, even better. We prefer real photos over anything generated or scraped, and we credit them to you.
