    Fiestas de la Virgen del Mar

    Annual, mid-July (sea procession near July 16) · Puntarenas

    Costa Rica's signature maritime festival, where decorated fishing boats parade across the Gulf of Nicoya to honor the patron of fishermen, with concerts and food on the waterfront.

    Annual, late February into early March · Uvita

    A multi-day music, art, and sustainability festival on the jungle coast near Uvita. The 2027 dates are not yet announced.

    Circuito Nacional de Surf 2027

    Annual, runs February to July across multiple beaches · Beaches nationwide

    The national surf circuit returns each year with stops on both coasts, from Cocles to Santa Teresa, Nosara, Dominical, and Playa Hermosa. The 2027 calendar is not yet published.
