First, what is never for sale
Every verified business is listed for free, and the data itself (phone numbers, hours, links) is never paid content. The Verified badge and the Our Pick badge cannot be bought: every verified listing earns the first, and we award the second ourselves from firsthand local knowledge. Ranking is not for sale either. That is permanent, and it is the reason being listed here is worth something.
The paid placements
Three ways to buy visibility, all labeled in plain sight:
Featured
Your listing carries a gold Featured ribbon, sorts to the top of its category, and shows up under the Featured filter. The simplest way to stand out among the listings in your zone.
Spotlight
A rotating banner at the top of a category page (say, hotels in Manuel Antonio), the first thing every visitor to that category sees. Limited slots per category.
Zone Sponsor
The top spot for a whole zone: a "this guide presented by" banner at the head of the zone page, before any listings. One sponsor per zone, so it is exclusive.
How it works
Every placement links to your verified listing and carries tags that show you, in your own analytics, exactly how many visitors the directory sends you. It is your data, in your dashboard, proving what the placement does for you. Inventory is capped per zone on purpose: a handful of slots so each one is worth having.
