An indoor live-bat exhibit in Old Monteverde designed and run by bat biologist Dr. Richard LaVal, housing roughly 90 bats of several species in a darkened enclosure that mimics the cloud forest at night. The 45-minute guided tour includes an ultrasonic microphone that lets visitors hear bats echolocating in real time.
