Playa Herradura is a sheltered, horseshoe-shaped cove just north of Jacó, home to the Los Sueños Marina, Costa Rica's largest full-service sportfishing marina with about 200 wet slips. The gray sand beach itself is rocky in places and gets busy with local visitors on weekends, with a row of casual restaurants across the beach road. Boats moored at the marina make it the base for much of the region's game-fishing fleet.
Turn off the Costanera Sur at the signed Los Sueños / Herradura entrance, a few minutes north of Jacó.
