Piedras Blancas National Park

A long, crescent-shaped dark-sand beach on the Golfo Dulce, reached only by boat or a rainforest trail, with Casa Orquideas botanical garden at its western end. The gulf water here is calm and sheltered, and the beach backs directly onto primary rainforest with almost no development. It is not a listed Bandera Azul beach.

Banana Bay Marina

Golfito

Banana Bay Marina is a government-licensed marina, hotel, and sportfishing center on Golfito Bay that has served the Golfo Dulce boating community for over 20 years. It runs inshore and offshore charters on a fleet ranging from 25 and 28 foot single console boats up to 32 to 35 foot Contenders and larger sportfishing yachts. The marina restaurant cooks the day's catch for guests staying at the on-site hotel.

Casa Orquídeas Botanical Garden

Golfito

A privately owned tropical botanical garden at Playa San Josecito on the Golfo Dulce, reached only by boat from Golfito or the nearby beach towns. Guided tours walk visitors through orchids, heliconias, palms, and fruit trees, with frequent birds and monkeys. Visits are by reservation.
