Cabo Matapalo

On a big southwest swell, Matapalo Point can wrap for 300 meters or more, the longest ride on the cape.

The point beach at the southern tip of the Osa Peninsula, where rainforest runs down to a narrow shoreline of white-washed cobblestones and boulders. Beyond Pan Dulce, the cape holds two more named right-hand breaks, Backwash and Matapalo Point, both hollower and more powerful, best left to intermediate and advanced surfers. The rocky shore itself is better for exploring tide pools than for swimming.
